How to find WhatsApp groups that are worth joining

Public WhatsApp groups can be a great way to learn, network and share interests. They can also be noisy or unsafe. These tips help you pick well.

1. Start from a topic, not a number

Browse by category or language and read the description. A good listing explains who the group is for and what the rules are.

2. Check the details

Look at when the group was added and last updated, and whether it has been reported. Older listings can have expired links.

3. Protect yourself

Never share OTPs, passwords or bank details. Mute the group, review the admins' rules and leave quickly if the group spams.

4. Report problems

If a link is dead or a group looks like a scam, use the Report button so moderators can act.
